Virginia M. Viado

CPF Board Member  (Term of Office - 1/1/08 to 12/31/11)

Virginia is a Senior Urban Planner with URS Corporation where her responsibilities include preparation of environmental documents for various federal, state and local projects.

Prior to URS, she worked at Hogle-Ireland where she served as project manager for the preparation of Specific Plans and Housing Elements, as well as provided support planning services for municipal planning organizations and managed the entitlement process for various large and small scale development projects. She has also worked at Civic Solutions, where she provided contract planning services to the cities of Irvine, Riverside, Westminster, and the County of Riverside. Prior to contract planning, she worked as a planner in the Southern California cities of Culver City, Fullerton, Ontario, and San Dimas. She has experience in a variety of community development activities, and has served as project manager for both Current and Advanced Planning applications, and Housing projects utilizing federal grant funds. Her experience in municipal government also includes work in environmental programs, including management and supervision of Air Quality, Waste Management/Recycling and Water Quality programs.

Virginia received her Bachelor of Science degree in Urban and Regional Planning at Cal Poly Pomona in 1989 and served as a board member to the URP Alumni Association. She joined CPF in January 2004 and is the coordinator of the CPF Auction event, held annually at the APA California Conference.

Virginia was raised in San Diego and lives in the City of Claremont.
