Kenneth Milam 1945 - 1997Ken Milam was involved in planning for nearly 30 years. His first job was as Assistant Planning Director for Placer County. He then served as Planning Director for El Dorado County from 1977 to 1985. In 1985 and 1986, he was Planning Director for the City of Auburn.
Ken served as Planning Director for Sonoma County from 1986 to 1995. After retiring from that position, he moved to Paradise and served as Planning Director for the City of Chico until illness forced him to leave his job.
Ken was active for many years in the California Planning Roundtable.
One of Ken’s favorite hobbies was bluegrass music. He was an accomplished, resophonic guitar player. One of his dreams was to retire and build resophonic guitars. He served as agent to The Red Dirt Bullies, a Chico bluegrass band.
Ken was an avid sailor. He sailed the Caribbean and the Greek Islands in 1996. Milam was also a successful winemaker and part-owner of the Turtle Rock Winery, located in Bodega.
